In November our Director of Human Resources, Dena Hueston, and Interim Director of Construction, Andrew Doucet, took to the airwaves joining Charlene Pickrem, owner of Pick Empowerment on CIOE 97.5FM to discuss Mental Health.
This is not the first time rcs has joined the conversation and taken action to better Mental Health. As a board member of the Mental Health Foundation, Andrew has a finger on the pulse when it comes to new initiatives, ideas and issues; and Dena is a consistent force in advocating for employee health, balance and benefits.
We make it a point to be cognizant of what may be happening behind the scenes in each other’s lives and also employ an open door policy should anyone need someone to lean on. If chatting with a colleague is not an option, we offer an Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) as part of our benefits package. Perhaps physical exertion is more your speed; for that we have an on-site gym and partnership with Goodlife Fitness. We also do our best to provide an office environment that is comfortable and free of negativity with natural light, private offices, plenty of live plants and unlimited coffee and snacks.
Understanding that happy employees translate into happy clients, we do our best to ensure our employees are in a good head-space and are able to achieve a good work-life balance. With this in mind, we offer flex-time so when life gets chaotic you have a buffer without having to use your vacation days. We also close the office between Christmas and New Year’s so that staff can be with their families; we offer tuition assistance, have birthday celebrations, organize legendary parties, have mini monthly massages and allow time off for charity work. Those are just a couple of the work perks that come with working for rcs.
Recognizing that everyone deals with challenges differently helps us ensure that we are being mindful and supportive when it comes to the health and well-being of our employees.
