Banook Lake Finish Line Tower is a renovation project delivered by rcs construction for Canoe ’22 at Lake Banook in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The facility is part of a leading paddling venue that hosts local, national, and international canoe and kayak events, including the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships.
The project focused on modernizing the existing Finish Line Tower, originally built in 1987, to meet current technical and operational requirements. The scope included upgrades to race timing infrastructure, improved visibility for officials, and enhanced accessibility, including the addition of a pedestrian walkway.
The design expanded space for judges and equipment while maintaining the recognizable form of the original structure. The updated tower combines modern materials and systems with the existing construction, creating a functional and visually distinctive landmark on the lake.
