Main Street Centre

Client: Affirmative Ventures Association

rcs construction completed the construction of Main Street Centre, a seven-storey mixed-use development in Dartmouth for Affirmative Ventures Association.

The project brings together residential, commercial and community-focused spaces within one building, with fire-rated construction incorporated throughout. The development is designed to support both residential use and the programs delivered by Affirmative Ventures.

The building includes 45 residential units, with 25 designated as affordable housing and 20 offered at market rent. Twelve apartments are fully accessible for residents with mobility requirements. The residential component is complemented by two street-level commercial spaces, offices for Affirmative Ventures, basement and support areas, as well as spaces for employment training and community-based support programs.

Main Street Centre also provides grade-level access to the ground-floor spaces. Its location along Dartmouth’s Main Street offers convenient access to nearby businesses, services and Halifax Transit, while dedicated bicycle storage provides residents with an additional transportation option.

As a member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), rcs construction supports sustainable building practices and energy-efficient construction across Atlantic Canada.
