rcs construction completed the full interior transformation of a 14,103 sq.ft. retail space at Highland Square Mall in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, delivering a modern, fully operational PetSmart store built to meet the brand’s national standards. This tenant fit-up project converted an existing unit into a vibrant and highly functional retail environment tailored to both operational performance and customer experience.
Located at 689 Westville Road, the project involved complete interior demolition followed by new framing and upgrades to all major building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation. The work also included installation of specialized pet retail infrastructure, high-quality interior finishes, custom millwork, upgraded lighting, new flooring, storefront improvements, and installation of owner-supplied fixtures and equipment.
Key departments such as aquatics, small animals, grooming facilities, retail sales areas, checkout counters, and online pickup stations were carefully constructed and coordinated to support efficient daily operations and consistent brand standards. The work was delivered on a fast-track schedule while maintaining strict quality and safety protocols.
The completed store provides a bright, organized, and welcoming environment designed to accommodate high customer traffic, ensure safe animal display areas, and enhance the overall shopping experience for pet owners in the New Glasgow community.
