rcs construction completed the full construction and interior fit-up of Union East & Drinks, a 4,000 sq ft restaurant located inside Gander International Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador. The project transformed an open concourse area into a modern, functional dining space designed to improve the airport’s guest experience.
Working in collaboration with Breakhouse Architecture, the rcs construction team delivered a complete build-out that included structural modifications, full mechanical and electrical integration, custom millwork, flooring, wall systems, and the installation of all front-of-house and back-of-house elements.
The design features a clean, contemporary aesthetic with warm wood finishes, geometric tilework, brick accents, and custom lighting intended to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere for travelers. The space includes a fully equipped bar with sliding-panel shelving, café and grab-and-go service areas, lounge seating, booth seating, and dedicated zones for dining and gaming machines.
Through coordinated scheduling, airport-security compliance, and careful work sequencing in an active terminal environment, rcs construction delivered a turnkey restaurant that enhances the overall passenger experience at Gander International Airport.
